SCT Logistics epically delivers Gen3 Camaro to BJR

Jack Smith’s Gen3 Repco Supercars Championship Camaro has been delivered to BJR on the back of an SCT Logistics freight train ready to race into the 2023 season.

The Camaro is a brand new model to be introduced to the championship and SCT has unveiled the Brad Jones Racing built #4 machine aboard one of their locomotives that is part of the critical freight system that keeps Australia running.

SCT is a national, multi-modal transport and logistics company that started as an East / West rail operator and has grown to have branches throughout Australia, with offices in every major capital city as well as regional locations in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Driver Jack Smith was on hand to accept the freight delivery at the Wodonga SCT Intermodal where he was able to set eyes on the livery of his new Camaro.

The striking SCT colours on the new for 2023 Gen3 car are an epic standout with red racing stripes from nose to tail.

While maintaining the traditional red and white SCT scheme, the #4 Camaro’s PPG warpaint is a fresh look, creating a stark effect on the shapely Chevrolet body.

The 23-year-old steerer is entering his fourth year as a full-time driver in the championship, all of which have been contested with BJR, and is looking to make the most of the category’s Gen3 shift.

The Camaro was diligently wrapped in its 2023 colours with 3M vinyl.

Smith will also be supported throughout the season by Liberty Fuels, Randstad, Wash It Australia, Gemco Rail, Huski Construction, Thermoking and Mizuno.

The SCT Logistics Camaro will make its racing debut at the first round of the Supercars Championship, the Thrifty Newcastle 500 on March 10-12.

Jack Smith

Driver, #4 SCT Logistics Chevrolet Camaro

“The SCT Camaro sitting on the SCT freight train is an awesome sight and I’m excited to sign off on that delivery.

“I can’t wait to get it to Newcastle. Being on the grid for the first time in a Gen3 car that looks this good will be pretty special.

“It’s a pretty cool feeling seeing the car in the SCT livery, I’ve been in the workshop and seen the team bring it to life and it’s been quite a journey.

“Gen3 is quite a big change and I’m keen to see what the racing dynamic will be once we get to Newcastle. It’s been almost a year since I tested one of these cars so it will be good to get to Winton and get some laps in.”

Brad Jones

Team Owner, Brad Jones Racing

“I’m so pleased to be able to unveil the SCT Camaro. This thing looks mean and ready to race.

“There’s been a number of changes in the #4 garage over the break and I’m looking forward to seeing how the team gels together at Newcastle.

“Gen3 promises to be a complete reset with the new car and I’m going to enjoy seeing what Jack and the team can do.”
