R&J Batteries and Brad Jones Racing extend partnership

R&J Batteries and Brad Jones Racing are excited to announce that their successful partnership will continue for the next two years.

Coming off three consecutive rounds with podium finishes for the #8 R&J Batteries Camaro the ogranisations have agreed to keep the momentum rolling and lock the naming rights in place for two more years.

R&J Batteries have been in the Supercars Championship and solely with BJR since 2020, the relationship over the last three and a half years has grown to become an important pillar in the BJR family.

Andre Heimgartner currently drives the R&J Batteries Camaro in the championship and so far this year has scored five podiums, at the halfway point for the season.

The quick Kiwi is a proud ambassador for R&J Batteries and has carried their colours since joining BJR at the start of 2022.

The year kicked off strong for the R&J Batteries Camaro and Heimgartner, with the gun-driver quickest at the first official pre-season test day for the new Gen3 cars.

He carried that pace into the first round in Newcastle, topping the first practice session on the street circuit.

A fifth and a seventh in the two races that weekend meant that Heimgartner left the first round sitting fourth in the championship.

As the team then trekked to Melbourne aside the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Heimgartner delighted with his first podium appearance of the season on the Sunday.

He would then take to the rostrum in the fourth round in Tasmania, finishing second in the Saturday race.

However the R&J Batteries car’s best weekend to date was in Darwin, with Heimgartner’s speed on clear show.

The 28-year-old qualified twice on the front row and had a clear shot at Hidden Valley’s Turn 1 on the Sunday.

Heimgartner diced for the win in both races, keeping the R&J Batteries car in contention but ultimately would finish third and second.

The momentum continued into Townsville with Heimgartner making an appearance in the Top Ten Shootout on Sunday before taking to the podium later in the afternoon in third.

After six rounds, Heimgartner now sits sixth in the championship, only seven points off the driver ahead and the R&J Batteries garage is third in the team’s rankings.

The team are thrilled to keep R&J Batteries onboard and value their support and contribution immensely.

The New South Wales capital of Sydney is the next stop for the Supercars tour (July 28-30), and the R&J Batteries team are excited to get the round underway.

What our team has to say…

“Our partnership works on many levels and what we’ve been able to achieve on track this year, alongside the challenges of building all new cars and learning how to get the best out of the Camaros, is proof that of the the hard work the team has put in and that R&J Batteries see’s the value of that.”
