FIRE CIRCLES LIGHT THE WAY FOR JONES' KUBOTA ENTRY IN DARWIN
Brad Jones Racing is excited to not only confirm Kubota as naming rights sponsor for the #96 ZB Commodore of Macauley Jones– but also unveil the stunning Indigenous livery for the Darwin Triple Crown event next weekend.
The Hidden Valley event has been designated as the official Indigenous round of the Supercars Championship for 2022 and all teams have engaged with artists to design liveries celebrating the culture of Australia’s First Nation People’s in preparation for the event.
For more than 40 years Kubota has been the leading supplier of agriculture, construction, and power equipment in Australia.
BJR worked with Jedess Hudson, a young emerging Indigenous Artist from Cairns in Far North Queensland on the design for the Kubota Supercar.
Kubota is known and trusted in Australia for its agricultural and construction machinery, building and shaping Australia for over 40 years which makes this an ideal fit: indigenous art and a company whose products farm the land. Jedess took inspiration from those products and how First Peoples would have tackled the job for thousands of years.
“Traditionally, fire has been used as a tool for managing country for countless generations,” Jedess said.
“The artwork on Macauley’s car is called Biri (Fire) Circles. Fire is an integral part of life. It allows the land to regenerate, germinate seeds and clears the undergrowth of the land. This makes way for new ground to grow and ensures wildlife have fresh food to feast on. Biri can leave such devastation but is very much needed and symbolic in our own cycles of life.”
Malcolm Owens, Kubota Australia General Manager for Marketing Australia and New Zealand, said everyone at Kubota was looking forward to seeing Jones hit the track in Darwin.

The #96 car will also carry Jones’ other 2022 sponsors in tools.com, Automotive Superstore, TRG Transport, DrillPro and Pertamina.
The amazing Indigenous livery is also brought to life by 3M Films and PPG.
Jedess Hudson is an emerging Indigenous Artist from Cairns in Far North Queensland. She is a descendant of the Ewamian and Western Yalanji people of Northern Queensland. Jedess seeks to express her Aboriginality through her art, combining the traditional stories of her ancestors with contemporary artistic styles. The beautiful country and landscape of Australia provide her with an infinite source of inspiration. On her creative journey Jedess draws deeply from her traditional homelands. The land, seasons, bush tucker, flora and fauna are aspects that are inspired and incorporated into her art practice.
Growing up Jedess was taught to be aware of her surroundings especially in nature and analyse the things that make up our diverse landscape. The daughter of renowned North Queensland artist and musician David Hudson, Jedess and David have recently collaborated and exhibited Ancient Voices – New Beginnings - a diverse mix of David’s traditional storytelling style with Jedess’ contemporary perspective.
