Heimgartner’s fresh start for 2025 Supercars Championship campaign

Brad Jones Racing are introducing a new chassis for the start of the 2025 Supercars Championship in Sydney (February 21-23).

Heading into the Summer break the BJR crew started to prepare their fifth Gen3 chassis (BJR-018) for Andre Heimgartner.

The team took ownership of the Chassis in 2023 and has been gradually building it over the last year for its’ eventual Championship debut.

The Taupo race winning car that Heimgartner has driven for the last two seasons (BJR-016) will be transformed into the SCT Motorsport entry.

Jaxon Evans will take over the pedigreed BJR-016 to start the year, with repair work ongoing for his Camaro after a crash in Qualifying at the Adelaide 500.

Evans’ 2024 car, BJR-015 will then either be returned to him or become the spare chassis for the team.

Heimgartner’s new car marks the first to be introduced to the BJR fleet since the adoption of the Gen3 regulations at the start of 2023.

The  R&J Batteries Camaro will be shaken down at Winton Motor Raceway ahead of the opening round of racing, with a date of the shakedown to be advised later.

The refresh for 2025 gives BJR the chance to come out of the blocks firing in Sydney.

With the official all-in test day held just two days prior to racing in the NSW capital, BJR will hit the ground running.

Team Owner, Brad Jones Racing

"We have the opportunity now to introduce the new car and it all stacks up for a few reasons. It will be good for the team to have a fresh car in the mix.

“With the extensive repairs needed to restore Car 12 into perfect condition it made sense to introduce Chassis-018 for the 2025 season.

“The team have been quietly building this car up over 2024 and will have it comfortably completed in time for a Shakedown before Round 1."
