Brad Jones Racing achieving the ‘almost impossible’ with four car Gen3 debut

Brad Jones Racing has arrived in Newcastle for the first round of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship with four brand new cars.

The Gen3 era arrives on the streets of Newcastle this weekend (March 10-12) and the Albury-based squad is buoyed by its preparation of its four brand new Camaros for the upcoming season.

BJR  took delivery of its first chassis in August last year and the journey since then has been a whirlwind for the team to now have four cars that have completed a shakedown and two testing days with minimal issues.

Team owner, Brad Jones has described the team’ accomplishments as the ‘almost impossible’.

Andre Heimgartner (R&J Batteries #8), Macauley Jones (Pizza Hut #96), Bryce Fullwood (#14 Middy’s Electrical Camaro), Jack Smith (SCT Logistics #4) have all had a taste of their new chariots across those tests.

While the form guide may not have come to light at the official Supercars test day, all four BJR cars finished inside the top six, with Heimgartner leading the standings at the end of both the morning and afternoon sessions.

Newcastle is a promise of new beginnings, it’s the start of a new generation; heralding an era of racing that’s closer and more exhilarating than ever before and BJR are ready to pounce.

Gen3 is given the green light for Practice 1 at 11:15 AEDT on Friday the 10th.

What Brad had to say…

“It’s been a really tough off season with the Gen3 car build. I am so proud of the staff at BJR for their commitment and hard work to achieve the almost impossible.

“This is a very exciting time to be racing Supercars and I can’t wait to see our four Camaros rumbling around the streets of Newcastle for the time on Friday morning.”
