BJR Run Down talks Gen3 cabin temp and the parity debate

The Brad Jones Racing Run Down podcast discusses everything Darwin before turning the focus onto the upcoming Townsville 500.

Macauley Jones and BJR General Manager Chris Westwood go over all the on track action, new race winners and how close the racing was in the Top End.

With top temperatures of 32 degrees outside the cars in Darwin, it was another test of Gen3 to see how heat would affect the drivers.

Jones believes that the new cars run cooler than their predecessors, with a lot more airflow in the cabin and didn’t find the NT heat too much of an issue.

The #96 Pizza Hut Racing driver also describes what it’s like racing in Gen3 in a Camaro against a Mustang.

Jones remarked that after following a few Mustangs on the long front straight in Hidden Valley that their top speed doesn’t seem to be an issue.

In the drag along the straight the Camaro didn’t have any obvious advantage.

Looking ahead to Townsville Jones is excited about the strategy mix for the longer format races, with refuelling added into the mix for the first time since Newcastle.

The BJR Run Down is a regular podcast produced by the Supercars team aiming to provide insight into the Albury-based squad and the Supercars paddock.
