BJR Run Down predicts Gen3 to have higher top speed in Tassie

The Brad Jones Racing Run Down previews the Repco Supercars Championship’s next round in Tasmania.

Macauley Jones, in conversation with BJR GM Chris Westwood, provides a full breakdown of what a lap is like around the Symmons Plains circuit and how he thinks the new Gen3 cars will fare.

Jones believes that the Gen3 Supercars will have a higher top speed than their predecessors at the Tasmania circuit, predicting that they may hit 270kph along the back straight which would be around 5kph faster than Gen2.

The pair also discuss Jones’ recent trip to Newcastle for the Australian Karting Championship shakedown ahead of their round at the start of next month

Jones describes the last minute repairs to the kart that he called upon BJR mechanic and good mate, Harry Ryan, to complete at the last moment before getting on the road to the shakedown.

The driver of the #96 Pizza Hut Racing Supercar will take part in the KZ2 Class at the AKC round, which he describes as being busier to drive than a Supercar over the weekend of June 2-4.

The BJR Run Down is a regular podcast produced by the Supercars team aiming to provide insight into the Albury-based squad and the Supercars paddock.
