BJR Run Down: Drivers’ vision in Gen3, Darwin preview, and testing

With the trucks packed and only hours outside of Darwin, the BJR Run Down podcast looks forward to the next round of the Supercars Championship.

Macauley Jones is joined by Brad Jones Racing’s General Manager Chris Westwood for a lengthy chat covering Darwin, the Indigenous Round and working with local artists vision in a Gen3 car, how and why BJR got our test day in at Winton, and plenty more topics.

Westwood jumps straight to the point and asks Jones about drivers’ vision in the Gen3 cars and how it compares to their predecessors, and while the Pizza Hut Racing driver admits that the view is limited, it’s not as bad as what some may have said before the season.

He does note, however, that because the door mirrors are iterations of the American road cars that it does create large blindspots on the left hand side of the car.

The pair also discuss how the team were able to get their test day in at Winton Motor Raceway while a lot of teams had to abandon their attempt.

The BJR Run Down is a regular podcast produced by the Supercars team aiming to provide insight into the Albury-based squad and the Supercars paddock.
