SCT Logistics celebrates 50 years of keeping Australia on track with stunning Supercar livery

SCT Logistics is celebrating 50 years of operation in 2024 and has debuted an incredible Supercar livery ahead of the iconic Sandown 500 (September 13-15).

Jaxon Evans and co-driver Dean Fiore will race in revamped colours for the endurance season (Sandown 500 and the Bathurst 1000) in the SCT Motorsport Camaro.

The pair will also race under a new number, replacing #12 for the time being and adopting #50 to reflect the half-century in business for SCT.

Evans and SCT’s Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Smith revealed the livery at the Altona headquarters in front of a large gathering of SCT staff.

It was an especially fitting reveal given that the bonnet lists of the names of the 1100 full-time staff that are pivotal to SCT Logistics national operational network.

Following the removal of the car covers, staff were given the chance to get up-close with the Supercar and to find their names on the livery.

The incredible detail across the new war-paint for the #50 Camaro includes a nod to SCT’s core business and the modes of transport used in keeping Australia’s freight network moving.

From diesel-powered locomotives to freight ships and trucks, it’s an intricate network that SCT utilizes and it’s all depicted in the details of car #50’s livery.

Peter Smith

SCT Logistics was established in Australia in 1974 by Peter Smith and has become a powerhouse in the logistics and transport sector, with the network encompassing all of Australia.

Smith purchased his first truck in the 1960s, a Bedford flat-tray, igniting the spark that would later become SCT Logistics.

With the business’ roots in East-West rail, and history of being the first private rail operator on the corridor between Melbourne and Perth the organisation has expanded exponentially since its humble beginnings.

Now operating a fleet of over 55 locomotives, SCT services Australia’s transport needs out of eight terminals around the country.

SCT first entered Supercars in 2013 before SCT Motosport launched in 2019, racing full-time in the category with Jack Smith the following year.

With over a decade in Supercars, the business established their motorsport program which helps to guide promising drivers through the ranks, including giving Evans his first full-time drive in the sport.

The salute to the half century for SCT is fitting at the upcoming heritage Supercars circuits, given its place in motorsport history.

Evans and Fiore will be looking to create a piece of their own history as they head to Sandown this week.

Opening practice is on Friday (10:45 AEST), before the grueling 500km race on Sunday (14:05).
