BJR Run Down: Bathurst expectations, new Mustang panels and endurance fitness

Ahead of the biggest race of the Supercars Championship calendar, the BJR Run Down talks all things Bathurst.

Macauley Jones and Brad Jones Racing General Manager, Chris Westwood are at the table poring over Sandown, recent changes in the category and what to expect coming to the Mountain.

Jones believes we’ll see slower lap times at the infamous circuit, with the aero cut to Gen3 over the previous generation of car.

Though the introduction of the soft Dunlop tyre for the first time at the 1000 could play a part in overall speed.

Rolling into Bathurst the Ford Mustang was given lighter paneling, Jones breaks down why that change is important for the Mustang.

Bathurst is a real test of endurance; Jones, an athlete away from the track and regular competitor in Ultra Marathons, details how he prepares and keeps himself sharp inside the car during the 1000km race.

The Pizza Hut Racing driver will join the rest of the Supercars Championship on track for the first practice session at Bathurst on Thursday October 5, 13:20 AEDT.

The BJR Run Down is a regular podcast produced by the Supercars team aiming to provide insight into the Albury-based squad and the Supercars paddock.
