THE ONE WE ALL WANT: André previews Bathurst

BATHURST! The big one.

This is what we wait all year for. It would be pointless for me to try to put into words what this event means - to the fans, to the teams, to the drivers. There's just nothing like it.

Even though it's no longer the last event on our calendar it really does feel like a Grand Final of sorts.

Of course we always strive to do well, we go out there and always want to bring home the absolute best result we can every time we jump in the car.

But if you asked any driver what’s the one race they want to win at some point in their career we would all answer exactly the same thing.

It's a huge test of everything that you need to get right to do well in this sport. The car, the drivers and the team all have to perform and on top of that, you just need some old fashioned good luck!

Coming off the back of Pukekhoe and the great weekend we had over there, spirits are definitely high within the team.

I'm really looking forward to driving alongside Dale Wood in the R&J Batteries car and he is no stranger to BJR himself which means he knows the crew and how we work.

Our plan is really quite simple - get to grips with the car as early as possible in the week as we can and dial in the setup, qualify up the pointy end and then keep out of trouble and see how the day unfolds.

1000km is not quite the endurance race it once was and all it takes is for the weather to throw us some curveballs, some safety car periods and pit stop strategy coming into play and we'll have ourselves an interesting race.

The crew is also very much looking forward to the Pitstop Challenge finals which will be held on the Friday evening. As three time Champions they're looking to keep a firm hold on the trophy and, going by their form at Pukekhoe where their work was a contributing factor to our great result, I certainly wouldn't be betting against them!

Join me in cheering them on and I know we'll also have your support come Sunday! Let's go get 'em!
