DALE WOOD RETURNS TO PARTNER HEIMGARTNER; BOYS JOINS FORCES WITH MACAULEY JONES

Brad Jones Racing is set to welcome back Dale Wood as co-driver to Andre Heimgartner in the #8 R&J Racing Commodore in 2022.

“I’m very happy to be returning to the BJR family and co-driving with Andre this year. We’re obviously only one round in so far but the car and whole team looked great in Sydney and if not for a bit of bad luck the guys could have been fighting for a podium.

“It will be great to see how the season unfolds as I’ve watched Andre grow and mature as a driver and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to drive alongside him come Bathurst.”

2022 will see Wood make his 15th Bathurst 1000 start after he partnered Nick Percat in 2021 in the #8 car.

Heimgartner said the experience a driver of the calibre of Wood brought to the team could not be underestimated.

“Dale obviously knows BJR well which is a huge advantage going into an event like Bathurst and he’s also familiar with the #8 car so let’s see what we can do. I can’t wait!”

BJR has also confirmed Jordan Boys will join Macauley Jones to co-drive the #96 entry in the Great Race.

Team owner Brad Jones openly said he was disappointed not to be able to find room for Boys for last year's enduros and is excited to welcome him back.

“Jordan is a really strong driver and he’s been in Super2 for a while, so I thought it was a good chance to get him back together with the team.

"There’s lots of things that contribute but the fact is I think he is fast and I think he fits in with the team well and will do a great job, and that’s why I want him.”

Boys said he was determined to make the experience count and would be focussed on putting in as much prep work as possible.

"I’m really stoked to be able to jump back in and to be able to do it with Macca is great too because he is probably the guy I’m closest with in the field,” he said.
