RECAP: The Timken Racing Supercar got off on a great start gaining two positions within the first lap. Nick on the strategy of an early pit stop saw him come into pit early in the race. Nick exited the pits just slightly in front of Lee Holdsworth and the battle was on. Unfortunately, Nick locked up and veered off track losing several positions.

With a Safety Car free race these positions were not able to be made up leaving Nick in position 17th for a significant time. With the final pit stop completed it was a long stint home with 42 laps remaining. Nick managed to conserve on fuel whilst still fighting his way back, climbing his way up to position 14th where he crossed the finish line.

A tricky day on track with some minor errors that will be worked on for tomorrow. The team will go again for the final day of the 2019 season and it’s surely going to be a big one!

THE WORD FROM NICK
“Today wasn’t my best day on track. I made some driving errors on my behalf and owe the boys and girls an apology. Just some silly little mistakes that cost us a lot.

I could have been up in the top ten, we had the pace but unfortunately, I stuffed up. We have a good car, tomorrow is a new day and it’s the last one for the season so I’ll give it my all, and fingers crossed we can end on a high.

It’s a very physically demanding track and it takes a lot out of you but it’s a great challenge. The atmosphere is awesome, and I always love racing here. It’s great to have the support of Timken here on track, hopefully I can put on a good show for them all tomorrow to finish off the season.”
