RECAP: A 30-minute session to kick off the Coates Hire Newcastle 500. Not the first practice session Nick was hoping for, with radio issues resulting in not being able to hear the team, followed by a slight lock up at turn 11 seeing Nick go head on into the tyre wall and sending the car back to the garage for the remainder of the session.

RECAP: The team worked through the break getting the Timken Racing Supercar ready for practice two. Nick working on his confidence through the session around the streets of Newcastle. With the only practice sessions for the weekend now over, Nick will work closely overnight with his engineer to set the car up for Qualifying first up tomorrow morning.

 

THE WORD FROM NICK

“Yeah I didn’t have the best day today and that was on me. Wasn’t driving my best and made some errors on my behalf which put me into the wall. Thanks to the boys for getting her back out for the second session.

 

I got some good laps in this afternoon, so I just need to get my confidence up around this tough circuit.

 

We’re straight into it tomorrow with Quali up first and I want to make sure I’m in that shootout”
