The sun was shining for the opening day at Phillip Island. With two practice sessions on the agenda, teams and drivers were eager to build on any learnings from this years’ initial test day and put in a fast time during the second session, as it was determining the qualifying order for tomorrow.

Tim hovered around the top ten in both sessions, and with most running green tyres to put in a fast lap at the end, the order was shaken up in the final minutes and Tim finished 15th. This will see him start in the first qualifying session tomorrow, and as proven in Tasmania last week, he can fight his way forward!

“We ran through our changes that we had planned for practice today. Between my Freightliner Racing Commodore and Nick’s 7-Eleven Supercar we went different ways over the practice session to see what worked and what didn’t. Whilst we’ve improved throughout the day, we’re still a few tenths off where we need to be. We’ll go through what we’ve learned today and see what we can do in qualifying to get close to that ten tomorrow.”

“It was no surprise to see all the Mustangs in the top ten today.”
