Winton Motor Raceway proved to be difficult circuit for the Timken Racing team today. Times were tight again during qualifying and the on-track battles were tough, with drivers eager to pass but not getting the desired results.
Nick finished in 14th, and with a solid points haul between he and stable-mate Tim Slade, the team have moved up to 4th in the teams championship.
The team now have a short break before heading to the top end, Darwin, in June, which proved to be a happy hunting ground for the team, with Nick scoring a podium result here last year.
“It was really difficult today for Nick. I felt like in clear air the Timken Racing Supercar had more pace than what the results reflected. We couldn’t put Nick out in a spot where he didn’t get held up by other people, so that really dictated the strategy today and he really didn’t move forward from where he started. It was a pretty tough and frustrating day for the guys today.”
