On the back of the successful Adelaide 500 and Melbourne 400 weekends that saw Nick Percat with two podium finishes at the latter; Blackwoods and Brad Jones Racing are thrilled to reveal they are teaming up again for the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint event.
Percat, currently sitting 8th in the championship, achieved his best qualifying and race results (2nd) since joining the Brad Jones Racing squad in 2017. With a strong showing at the Melbourne 400, Nick and the team are eager to continue this momentum into the third round of the Supercars championship and beyond.
Nick Percat “It’s great to have Blackwoods back on board as naming rights partner for next weekends’ round in Tasmania, but really, they never left, they were on the front of the car over the AGP weekend and have been supporting us non-stop since Adelaide. They were messaging a few of us in the team over the Melbourne 400 weekend, cheering us on and congratulating everyone on the results. They love it!”
“We head to Symmons Plains with a nice boost of confidence after the last couple of events. Getting the podium results in Melbourne has been such a great reward for the team and all the efforts they’ve put in over the last couple of months. Everyone has been working incredibly hard to get to this point and the car is awesome.”
“BJR have traditionally been strong in Tasmania. It’s one of those circuits where the car needs to be perfect. You’ve only got a couple of corners to work with, so you need to get it right every time. It’s not like other tracks where you can try make up a little ground elsewhere if need be.”
“There’s no room for error and no room to hide here. The results always show that, generally its only eight or so tenths between first and last here, so qualifying well here will be a big focus for us.”
Kim Jones “After a successful start to the season its brilliant to have Blackwoods on board again for Tasmania. The team there have shown us incredible support so far and I’m looking forward to working with them more throughout the season. We’ve also got additional support from the team at Timken for Tasmania and Phillip Island, so there’s plenty of good news in the BJR camp at the moment.”
“The Blackwoods team had a trade stand setup at Adelaide which received such an overwhelming response, their products really connect with Supercars fans. They were selling everything from trackside essentials including sunscreen and earmuffs, and they even managed to sell a couple of welders over the weekend!”
