THE RECAP

Nick has blitzed his qualifying results from yesterday and will start the final two Melbourne 400 races from 2nd and 3rd. The TEMPUR Commodore drove like a dream in the sunny Melbourne conditions, and means Nick will start every race from inside the top ten, and this stellar result also equals his personal best Supercars qualifying position of 2nd.

Nick started todays 130km race from 7th and proved to be one of the fastest cars on the circuit. He was in 6th when he came to complete his pit stop, however proved tricky for the team when they had a rattle gun fail and needed to move fast to change the tyre and get Nick on his way. 5 seconds might seem pretty quick, but that delay saw Nick drop to 12th.

Nick worked the TEMPUR Commodore hard to make up ground, and he and team-mate Tim Slade pulled off one of the more spectacular passing moves of the day when Nick and Tim went either side of Mark Winterbottom to pass him at the same time. Nick managed to get back up to 9th where he finished the race.

Tomorrow Nick will start from 5th and 2nd for the next two races, so plenty of promise ahead!
