THE RECAP

Nick has driven the Blackwoods Racing Commodore into the first Top Ten Shootout of the year! The Adelaide 500 weekend is the only time we see a shootout on Saturday and Sunday.

The Blackwoods Racing Commodore hit the hot and sunny streets of Adelaide with lap times improving over the two twenty-minute practice sessions. The qualifying session today was marred by two red flags; one mid-session when Jack Le Brocq touched the wall, leaving debris on the circuit. At this stage some drivers had just pitted for new tyres, including Nick, so he was set to do his first round of flying laps yet unable to bank a quick time. At the end of the session Jamie Whincup hit the treacherous turn 8 bringing out the second red flag. Nick had just posted his 6th place getting time but was on his second flyer which was looking to be better again.

6th place was enough to secure him into the shootout; and no doubt plenty of locals will be trackside to cheer on their home town hero in the shootout and first 250km battle of the weekend.
