BATHURST SATURDAY – NICK PERCAT / MACAULEY JONES

TODAYS TIMES

Practice Six – All Drivers

Position: 16 – 2:06.6132

Fastest: David Reynolds/Luke Youlden - 2:04.9948

For Nick Percat and Macauley Jones today was all about fine tuning the Boost Mobile Racing Commodore for the big race. Following a successful final practice session, Macauley then went on to win the Super 2 race and claim his first victory in the category – with Andrew Jones also finishing third for a great result for the BJR team.

THE WORD FROM NICK / MACAULEY

Nick “The car responded well in full race trim. I think it’s not too bad at all. We’re still quite competitive and I feel like we could have easily been in the top 10 if we were going for a time. The weather tomorrow could make it hard. I’ve never driven this place in full blown wet conditions but I think it should be fine.”

Macauley: “We’re really tuning the car and it feels like we have a strong race car. We’re ready to fight hard!”

On the Super 2 win: “I’m mega pumped. There’s no better place to get a win and to get my first win (in Super 2) here makes it even better. The win is definitely going to help my confidence tomorrow. It’s looking pretty dicey the weather but I’m going into it really happy and now I’m just fully focused on the race tomorrow”

Brad Jones (on Macauley’s win): “It’s so exciting for him to get a win here at Bathurst. It’s the most amazing feeling and to get his first win here at the Mountain – I’m just so proud and so happy and the team have done such a great job.”
