THE RACE RECAP

The heat was on in the Wild West, with temperatures up at 30 degrees, the driver cabins soared to over 60 degrees today and the attention turned to tyres. Barbagallo is known for its tyre degradation, but add to the mix a hot and sunny day, and it’s to test any tyre you put on it. Nick did a great job of managing his tyres, and the team again were super-fast in their pit stops. Nick said his ‘Supporting Equality’ Commodore kept improving throughout the day, and there was no pressure on him during the final stint of the race, so he was able to easily cruise across the finish line in a solid top ten position. Nick is looking forward to Winton in two weeks’ time, as the BJR cars have a great history at the circuit.

THE WORD FROM NICK

“I feel like this is the start of some good momentum for us. Especially heading into a track like Winton, if we can get a good result there I think it’ll really get us back on the right track for the rest of the season.”

“It was really good work by all of the team today. I think we took a few lessons from yesterday and applied them today to make it work. Bring on Winton.”
