Coregas Racing #8 Nick Percat
After getting taken out in race 2 and 3, plus starting from Pit Lane in race 3 due to internet issues, it’s fair to say it wasn’t the greatest night for Nick! One final round to go next week and Nick will be fighting to finish the Eseries on a high.
The word from Nick:
“Well, last night didn’t really go to plan, I think I spent more time on my roof than I did racing. I got taken out left, right and centre. At one point in the last race, I was literally stuck on my roof as cars did laps around me. A scene you don’t see too often. Shocker of a night to say the least.”
Brut Military Grade #14 Todd Hazelwood
Todd’s night was like a yo-yo, it was up then it was down then it was up again! After a strong quali and duel session, Todd started the night off well and was looking like a fierce challenger. Sitting up front in race 1, his yo-yo pattern kicked in and unfortunately he was hit from behind, sending him straight into the wall. The pattern repeated in race 2 after another hit sent the car flying into the air (which is kinda fun to watch, let’s be honest)! But after that bad luck, Todd in the Brut Military Grade Commodore bought it home in Race 3 stronger than ever with a P4. Nice job Todd!
The word from Todd:
“Oh man last night was interesting. I was battling with the front of the pack then all of a sudden I was sent to the back then I got back up towards the front, then I was sent into the air. It was hard to keep up haha! Fun night of racing though and I’m happy to finish the night on a strong note for BJR and Brut.”
Team CoolDrive #3 Macauley Jones
What a night for Macca with some of his best results in the championship - a pair of top tens! With some epic oval racing battles, it was definitely one of the most exciting nights of racing we’ve seen. Staying out of carnage - and there was a lot - Macca focused on his tactics and trying to get that slip-stream from the cars in-front. A great night for Team CoolDrive.
The word from Macca:
“Last night was fun, it’s so different to racing on one of our Supercars tracks. The whole style of racing is very different. My dad was in the background yelling out what I should do so that was quite fun too. It was great to challenge myself once again and the night was all about strategy and pairing up with another car to get that tow.”
SCT Motor Sport #4 Jack Smith
A good night of racing for Jack with great midfield finishes, some of his best yet in the Eseries. Holding his own and fighting off the pack in all three races, his oval racing practice throughout the week paid off and strategy was on point. Strong progress from the Supercars rookie, he’ll be putting his best foot forward next week for the final round.
The word from Jack:
“I had a better night of racing last night and it was fun. The quali and duel sessions at the start of the night was a good format that hadn’t been done before and this mixed things up. I feel like I’m definitely improving with my starts off the line which is a positive and I got some good tow last night which was key. A productive night, I feel.”
