Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse Racing #8 Nick Percat
A solid night for Nick in the Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse Racing Commodore sitting comfortably in the top ten for the first two races, adapting his driving technique and taking on the oval tracks. The white, blue & red livery looked mint around Charlotte and Daytona.
The word from Nick:
“Had a pretty good night last night, shame I couldn’t make it three good results. I really enjoyed racing on Oval tracks and it was cool to see Supercars on track. It’s such a different style of racing and you really just need to get behind someone to get a tow. It’s very tactical racing.”
Brut Military Grade #14 Todd Hazelwood
A strong night of racing for Todd in the Brut Military Grade Commodore with some good battles in all three races. Fast race pace and on the right strategy helped Todd stay up the front, narrowly missing out on a top ten for Race 2. Struggling to get a tow in the final race at Daytona hurt him, but all in all it was a great night of racing for Todd.
The word from Todd:
“I really enjoyed the Charlotte race and happy with my P9 result. I had a bit of an incident with three laps to go and had to drive through the smoke a little, but it was great to be in that top battle pack throughout the whole race. I just struggled getting a tow at Daytona and that hurt me a bit. Overall, a lot of fun and I hope I can get the Brut Military Grade Commodore back at an oval track soon.
Team CoolDrive #3 Macauley Jones
A rough night for Macca in America. Getting taken out by the same driver in two races is definitely not ideal (thanks very much Chris Pither)! Leaving him to go round & round (literally) on his own. Clocking the same race pace as the leaders was a positive tick for the night.
The word from Macca:
“It was a frustrating night. Pither took me out twice so I couldn’t do much after that. I lost so much time and drove around on my own really. It was fun being on oval tracks and I enjoyed learning both tracks. Just a shame it didn’t go well on the night.”
SCT Motor Sport #4 Jack Smith
Jack had his best quali result so far in the Eseries with a P14 for Race 1 and finished in P19, great improvement. Also having fellow Super2 Driver and friend, Will Brown step in to spot for the night helped Jack focus on racing. For a first time racing on oval circuits Jack showed great pace and technique.
The word from Jack:
“I had a fun night and it was great to mix things up and race on some NASCAR tracks. I had a good quali for the first session so that set me up well for the race and something I need to work on a bit more. Getting a better starting grid spot is always key. It was great having Will as my spotter too, he’s a good mate of mine so it was fun working together.”
