20TH MAY: DID SOMEONE SAY OVAL TRACKS?!

BP SUPERCARS ALL STARS ESERIES

It’s that time of the week again and all you need to know is below!

Where are we going this week?

We’re back in America and heading to two iconic Nascar tracks – Charlotte & Daytona Speedways. Two oval tracks, what could possibly go wrong? Eek! On this week’s agenda, two quali sessions followed by one race at Charlotte and then two races at Daytona. The grid set for the final race at Daytona will be from points accrued in Race 1 & 2.

BJR Car #8 Nick Percat

Nick takes to the virtual tracks with a slick new livery as Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse take naming rights for Round 7. The white, blue and red livery will look fierce!

The word from Nick:

“I’m stoked to have Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse on board. They have been a part of BJR for over six years now and it’s great to have them join the Eseries with us. This livery is quite special as Supercar fans will remember seeing it on track last year in Pukekohe. I’m proud to be driving it and hopefully I can get some better results this week in the Eseries. My steering wheel broke last week but I‘ve had it all fixed and I’m ready to race!”

BJR Car #14 Todd Hazelwood

Todd in the Brut Military Grade Commodore is ready to keep the momentum going from last week where he secured BJR’s first podium in the Eseries with a P3. Making strong progress each week, we’re looking forward to seeing what Todd has in-store for us tonight.

The word from Todd:

“This will be my first time racing at Oval tracks so I’m excited to see how I go. I’ve been practicing all week to get up to speed and get a bit more familiar with the technique and skills involved for these speedways. I’ve had the taste of a (virtual) podium so I’m looking to get some more championship points and fingers crossed a few more podiums.”

Team CoolDrive #3 Macauley Jones

Macca’s had a fun week with the roles reversed and spotting for the boss (his dad) in the Eseries Celebrity Race on Monday night. Brad was behind the wheel in the Team CoolDrive Commodore taking instructions from Macca. Macca is back in the driving seat and ready to take on the Speedways.

The word from Macca:

“I’m looking forward to tonight, racing at two Nascar tracks and mixing it up a bit with some oval tracks. It’s a different technique than what we’re used to so I’m keen to see how the cars go on track. I had some fun spotting for my dad in the Celeb race on Monday, he did a fairly good job. I’m keen to be back in though haha!”

SCT Motor Sports #4 Jack Smith

Jack’s set for another round of racing and keen to head to oval tracks; he’s been sharpening up on his technique during the week to learn both tracks and accrue some more points in the Championship and our own BJR Cup.

The word from Jack:

“Charlotte and Daytona will be fun tonight. Two new tracks for me so I’m looking forward to the challenge and seeing how the night goes. I feel like getting the hang of the sim a bit more now and improving so I’m enjoying learning some new skills off track.”

Anything else?

Two Wildcards are joining the grid this week with F1 star Lando Norris back for his 3rd round of Eseries and joining him is Super2 Driver Matt Chahda.
