Dunlop Super Dealer Racing #8 Nick Percat
Nick had a consistent night, making the shootout and a p7 in Race 1. The battle was on in Race 3 with an epic fight between Nick and Formula 1 star, Lando Norris - Norris just getting the better of Nick by a whisker. Some great Eseries racing!
The word from Nick:
“Last night was fun, my results were ok and pretty stable for the whole night. Highlight of my night was definitely battling Lando for a lap, he just got me at the end when I went wide. It’s great having some of these Formula 1 guys on the grid to race against.”
Brut Military Grade #14 Todd Hazelwood
It wasn’t Todd’s night unfortunately! Two blown Eseries engines in Race 1 & 2, sent him to the pits for a two-minute repair each time. In an eight-lap race, well, you can guess the rest. On to a better round next week!
The word from Todd:
“What a night that was, very frustrating! I’m quite bummed with how it went and not having a good night for Brut. I’m working with Tony, my engineer, as to why my engine blew twice. I also copped a pit-lane breach when I had to get out of the way of an accident resulting in another 40-second penalty. Man, it just wasn’t my night!”
Team CoolDrive #3 Macauley Jones
A night of strong racing for Macca, getting more consistent on his sim and gaining the upper hand in some cracker battles. A 12th place finish in race 1 was Macca’s best result of the night and he’s been showing huge improvement from the start of the season!
The word from Macca:
“Had an ok night last night, happy with two finishes out of the three so that was good. Still getting used to how much I can push the car as it’s so different to on track racing. I got a penalty in Race 2, so I slowed down on track which hurt me. I’m slowly improving, we’re halfway in the comp now so I’m hoping to get better each week.”
SCT Motor Sport #4 Jack Smith
Supercars Rookie, Jack had a better round this week, sticking to his plan and staying out of carnage and focusing on his own. With two p22 finishes it was his best result so far in the series.
The word from Jack:
“Had a better night last night and I really enjoyed racing at Spa. It’s an awesome track with some great challenging corners like Eu Rouge. It was my best night so far so I’m pretty happy with that.”
HIGHLIGHT
Highlight of the night goes to Nick Percat once again, for proving that driving, holding down the talk button to talk to the commentators and reaching over to shift with his right hand isn’t as easy as it sounds. But he managed it and provided the entertainment!
