The Dunlop Super Dealer Racing Supercar will return to the grid for the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 this weekend with Nick Percat set to run the iconic yellow and black colours for the first time this year.
The famous Dunlop colours have featured on the #8 Brad Jones Racing Commodore at a number of Supercar events over the years and it has quickly become a fan favourite.
“This is the fourth year we’ve been able to showcase a Dunlop Tyres Supercar as part of our livery line-up.” Said Percat.
“We always get fantastic support from Supercar fans and importantly the Dunlop dealers when we roll out the yellow and black livery. The dealers get so excited seeing this car on track as they’re very connected with the brand and feel like part of the team.
“Everyone looks forward to the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 event as we share the track with the formula one cars for their season opener. It’s a very long and fast track with a lot of tyre deg so the challenge is bringing it all together to get a great lap in. I’m keen to get out there and put on a great show.”
Dunlop Tyres have been an integral part of Australian Motorsport for over 70 years, with their industry-leading innovative tyre designs and development keeping them at the forefront of technology across multiple racing categories. As well as supporting BJR for many years, 2020 marks Dunlop Tyres’ 19th season supplying the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
Tony Kiernan, Senior Brand Manager for Dunlop Tyres and a proud supporter of Australian Motorsport and Supercars in particular added “Dunlop is pleased to support the latest example of our long and fruitful relationship with Brad Jones Racing. The Dunlop Motorsport Supercar appears several times each year, and always does an incredible job of flying the flag for Dunlop, the Dunlop Super Dealer network and BJR. The car stands out spectacularly on the track and we know our Dunlop Super Dealers get a real kick out of seeing it go around. All the best to Nick and the team.”
BJR has also been a part of the Dunlop Grid Kids initiative program. Heading into its second year the Dunlop team treat these rising karting stars to behind the scenes access like garage tours, holding the Dunlop flags on the starting grid and joining our Supercar drivers for lunch on track. It’s a memorable experience for these young stars and BJR love to be a part of helping future drivers - hopefully seeing them on the Supercars grid in years to come.
The Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 gets underway on the 12th-15th of March with plenty of on-track activities. Stay tuned to the Brad Jones Racing Facebook and Instagram pages across the event for the latest updates.
