The Word From

Jake: Dunlop Racing – “Round one was a tough night for me. We started really strong with P6 in qualifying, unfortunately our run was spoiled by an unavoidable first lap crash in the reverse grid race. Street circuits are certainly unforgiving as that one taught us! We started P13 in the final race of the night and some lap one chaos made things a little interesting which I unfortunately got caught in but I had good pace and a mega strategy from Andrew Edwards (Nick Percat’s race engineer) helped us bring home P9 after some cool battles. Definitely a night of potential for the Dunlop Commodore and P11 certainly isn’t indicative of where we should be, but really excited to bounce back for Round 2. Thanks to the team at BJR, all the engineers really helped us with our strategy for the night. Didn’t get to show the true potential of the #8 so I’m looking forward to next week’s round”

Madison: R&J Batteries – “A great first round of the Eseries overall for the R&J Batteries Commodore with a race win and a decent round result. Tony Woodward (Todd Hazelwood’s race engineer) was my spotter on the night and helped with the strategy perfectly giving me the opportunity to make the most of the solid car speed that we had to take the win! Race 3 was a solid result finishing P4 and again nailing the strategy. Overall, happy with how the first round played out. Early on it looked like a tough night but super happy that we managed to turn it around and achieve some great results.

Starting with a street circuit was exciting and was always going to generate some spiced-up results and it was definitely the case for us with a win and a crash in race 1. Good to get through it with decent average points and not too much damage done to our championship points standings. We will keep working hard and build on these results before next week!”

Jackson: Cub Cadet – “I think it’s not a bad start to the championship and racing against the best sim drivers from around the world is pretty cool. I will work on my preparation more leading into next week’s round but I’m happy with my top ten results from last night.

Qualifying was a bit tough for me as I missed out on doing a quali lap due to the track constantly changing. This hurt my starting position for race 1 and I started further down the grid than I would have liked to.

Top 10’s was my goal for the night so I’m happy with my results. It’s a very strong field so I’m enjoying the challenges and getting to race against the best in the world. The last race was a bit hard I unfortunately got caught in a tangle which pushed me down the grid. Overall, a great start to the Eseries, I really enjoyed the fair racing and will definitely come back and start pushing for some more solid results next week.”
