RECAP

A very different Bathurst 1000 this year of course, with limited spectators and less of the normal off track activities and excitement we’re used to but thankfully there was no shortage of excitement on track!

The two Jacks settled quickly into the early phase of the race, handling a tricky wet weather spell nicely and sitting in 12th place by half distance. Unfortunately things went awry on lap 95 when the SCT Motor Sports Supercar was tapped into a spin and into the sandtrap at the final corner.

After car #4 was extricated and back on track it was one lap down and out of contention. That didn’t stop the team from battling hard, Smith and Perkins both giving it 100% but with just under 10 laps to go the SCT Motor Sport Supercar spun off and into the gravel and sadly it was race over.

THE WORD FROM JACK SMITH

“Today could have been promising. We had a real opportunity for a good result I think. I definitely learnt a lot, it was great having Jack Perkins in the team with his experience. Unfortunately it went a bit wrong at the end there and we ended up in the gravel. Disappointing to end that way but we’ll be back!”

SEE YOU IN 2021 😊
