RECAP

Qualifying just outside the top 10, Todd made a strong start. On lap five, Todd and Rick Kelly had a coming together when three cars (Winterbottom the third man) tried to claim the same piece of road - Todd the victor in that little battle and nabbing two places in the process. Reporting a problem with the handling of the car, Todd still managed to keep up the pace and pitted late on lap 14. With just 10 laps remaining the Safety Car was sent out as two broken cars were removed from the track. The SC was back in with just seven laps remaining for a final sprint to the flag and Hazelwood immediately grabbed a spot at the restart, driving well despite the handling issue caused by a broken anti-roll bar on the TRG Transport Supercar. Keeping it clean but not holding back, Todd brought car #14 over the line in 11th.

RECAP

After a quick repair the TRG Transport Supercar was back for race 30 and Todd leapt straight into the top 10 after a terrific start. It was a shorter stint before the pitstop this time, with Todd into the pits on lap 9 and serviced for tyres in typical speedy BJR fashion. Car #14 was back out at the tail of the top 10, in perfect position to mount a challenge for a solid result. Up to P5 with 10 laps to go, unfortunately the ageing tyres on the TRG Transport Supercar left Todd vulnerable to Mostert and van Gisbergen, putting Todd down to p7. Despite the worn out rubber Todd gamely held on and finished nicely inside the top 10 in 7th. A good run to finish off the weekend.

THE WORD FROM TODD

“We had a reasonable first race with good pace but unfortunately had a roll-bar failure in the rear early on so that put a bit of a spanner in the works especially in the high speed corners and I lost a few positions because of it. Thankfully the boys tuned her up and fixed the issue for our second race.

It was great to come away with P7 and get some good teams championship points. Heading into Bathurst we’re sitting in a good spot, we need to work on our outright race pace on the car but we’re not too far away. Overall happy with the weekend and some solid points gained and proud of the team's efforts.”
