RECAP

Back for Townsville 2.0 and we couldn’t be more pumped for the fourth weekend straight of Supercars action! Nothing’s changed in the tyre department, with just the five sets of soft tyres available to teams across the weekend. There’s another issue for teams to contend with – hotter temperatures sure to influence tyre degradation.

Another solid qualifying for Nick in the R&J Batteries Commodore, starting the first race of the weekend from 8th on the grid. Good start too, with Nick holding station during the first rough and tumble laps.

Car #8 pitted for two rear tyres at half distance – out in p17. Great racing on lap 23 with a vigorious, paint swapping, battle with Anton De Pasquale. For the rest of the race Nick drove beautifully to hold out Coulthard to the flag and finish p6. Another good start to the weekend and sets the team up beautifully for another haul of points tomorrow.

THE WORD FROM NICK

“It was a good race. Cool little battle with Anton. He gave me back what I gave him which was fair enough. It was just good racing. I’m really happy to finish, we didn’t quite have the pace we would have liked but we got some good information and we’ll be back again tomorrow!”
