RECAP

After yesterday’s struggles it was with some considerable relief that the changes made to the Brut Military Grade Commodore had the desired effect – more speed! It still wasn’t quite right after that considerable hit last weekend but it WAS better and that was important with two races on the cards. From 18th, car #14 was up four spots by the end of lap one. In early on lap six for tyres the Brut Military Grade Commodore was fast and relatively consistent – a tool that Todd could use today rather than fight with! After conserving his tyres well for the bulk of the race, Todd finished in a strong p15. A good start to the day!

RACE 18 / 38 Laps

TIME: 14:25

CONDITIONS: Hot, Sunny

FINISHED: 15th

WINNER: Scott McLaughlin

RECAP

From 17th on the grid Todd got through the first laps unscathed before coming in early again on lap 10 for new tyres on the right hand side of the car and rejoining in 21st. From there the Brut Military Grade Commodore was on a charge, carving up the field with some great car pace and strong racing, up to 15th by lap 25. The last 10 laps involved a great fight with Jacobson and Fullwood, Todd finally winning that little war and bringing the car home in a solid 15th. A difficult weekend with handling issues but credit to Todd and the car #14 team for never giving up and battling hard to the finish.

THE WORD FROM TODD

“Today was a small improvement on yesterday. The car had better race pace and felt a little more balanced and competitive, but we just still struggled in some areas. For us today to come away with two half decent races, its obviously not what we want as want to be up on that podium too. I feel that’s where we should be too. We just need to re-group, put this one behind us and go through everything technically with a positive attitude. We’ll look on to Townsville, that’s always a strong round for us so for me I’ll put a cross through this weekend and focus on Townsville making up for it there.”
