RECAP: Going with soft tyres in Saturday’s night race put Macca in a great position to finish P8, his best result to date in the Supercar Championship. This meant Macca had only hard tyres for Race 11 and 12 today.

Macca started off Race 12 from P23 with 4 hard used tyres and managed the car and tyre degradation as best he could in the first half of the race.

Taking his one compulsory pit stop and getting another set of 4 hard used tyres, however, only having done quali with these they had good tyre life left to use. Macca showed this clocking strong race pace with the fresher rubber. It was always going to be a difficult race due to the tyre allocation left but Macca bought it home as best he could.

THE WORD FROM MACCA

“Sydney MotorSport Park, round 4 is done, pretty good result on the Saturday and really happy with the result and what we decided to do with tyres and changes with the car. Was awesome to get my best result so far with P8. This meant we paid for it a little bit today with tyres and tried to change the car to help this but wasn’t our day. We’ll dissect this and look ahead to Darwin”
