RECAP:

With a limited mix of hard and soft tyres on offer this weekend, it was always going to be about strategy - do you use up your softs on Saturday and the night race or save them for Sunday? For #14 the team decided to run with the former strategy, which meant using hard, used, tyres in qualifying - resulting in P15 for the night race. And what a race it was! While the record book will show a finish of 13th - on hard tyres throughout - that doesn’t tell the full story after Todd in the Brut Military Grade Commodore provided a huge amount of entertainment after a terrific battle with Mostert, Reynolds and Pye.

It was a relatively quiet first part of the race, Todd pitting late on lap 18 from 5th before rejoining 18th. From there it was on! The last 10 laps was a thrilling fight that lasted all the way to the finish, with Todd eventually crossing the line 13th with 2 lovely sets of soft tyres to use tomorrow.

THE WORD FROM TODD

“It was a really fun race, we had a plan to execute, today was really the day to maximise the hard tyres as much as we could. We got a strong start but it really heated up at the end. It was an epic battle - would have been great to grab a couple of extra spots at the end but it was really enjoyable to be a part of. Tomorrow is looking good with our 2 sets of soft tyres. I can’t wait.”
