RACE 8 / 32 Laps
TIME: 12:15
CONDITIONS: Fine, sunny
FINISHED: P18
WINNER: Nick Percat (BJR)
RECAP:
It was a disappointing qualifying session for Todd and the Brut Military Grade Commodore after a mistake resulted in an 18th grid slot and a tactical decision by the team to run some worn tyres to leave the best rubber for race 9. Todd stayed out of trouble and brought the car home clean and undamaged in P18. It was joy in the BJR garage with Nick Percat winning race 8 in the Dunlop Super Dealer Racing sister car!
RACE 9 / 32 Laps
TIME: 14:35
CONDITIONS: Fine, cloudy
FINISHED: P8
WINNER: Scott McLaughlin
RECAP:
A much stronger qualifying for race 9 with the Brut Military Grade Commodore right up where it belongs in P5 and with good rubber to boot. A strong start with Todd holding on to P5 before passing Waters for 4th and pressuring the two Red Bulls. On lap 9 Todd dived past SVG for 3rd and latching on to Whincup’s bootlid. On lap 16 Todd headed in to the pits from lead, rejoining down in 11th but with 4 fresh tyres – an advantage for the second half of the race. The Brut Military Grade Commodore battled back up the field to finish in a competitive P8.
THE WORD FROM TODD
“Today was really promising for us and its a great indication of what’s to come with the team. I was hoping it was going to be my time for a podium but it wasn’t to be. I had great tyres and the car was fast but unfortunately i had roll bar issues and that hurt me significantly overall. A little disappointing as I know we could’ve been up on that podium. Thank you to the team for their hard work all weekend, it’s been a fast paced and very busy weekend and they gave me a great car. A big thank you to Brut military grade for their support this weekend, the car looked unreal and I’m so thankful for their support. Bring on the next one!”
